Any one 50 + years of age or older who would like to receive the City of Blue Island Senior Citizen Newsletter please call the City of Blue Island  Senior Citizen Office at   708.396.7085.
It has activities for seniors and the Lunch menu for the month at the Salvation  Army along with other help full senior tip. The newsletter comes out once a month. We can email or send regular mail to you.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal
We still have a few seats left for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal. For Seniors 60 years of age and older. The rehearsal dates are:
Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 12-2:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 9, 2012, 10 am -12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 4:30-7:00 p.m.
The cost for each person would be $7.00 for a box lunch. Money for the lunches – due by January 23 to insure your spot on the buses. If you are interested in attending please call the Senior Office (708.396.7085) to save your seat.

Eisenhower NHS Book Drive
You can help: The National Honor Society chapter from Eisenhower will collect new and used books for children ages k-5. You can drop books off at the Drop Off Bin at the Salvation Army (290 W. 127th St) or City Hall (13501 Greenwood Ave) now through the end of February. NHS will visit School District 130 to read with the children and give them the books.
