Seniors come out for lunch at the Salvation Army
(2900 W 129th St) from 11am till 1pm.
Cost $2.00, 60 years and older, prepared by Chef Chris, then stay for the activities, provided by the City of Blue Island Senior Office and the Blue Island Library.

Bingo on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30pm

Book Lovers Review & Swap – Thursday, May 17 at 12:00 pm Senior Lunch Room – with conversation about all your current favorite books. Skye & Necia will offer interesting introductions to a variety of titles chosen to satisfy even the most devoted book lover. They will discuss great books in every category from mystery, westerns and romance to historical fiction classics and a range of non-fiction. If any discussed titles seen too good to pass up, you can check the book out right there at the Salvation Army with your card. Bring your own latest four star book recommendation to share.

Thursday, May 24 at 1pm in the Chapel – The Legacy Girls present The Andrews Sisters. Enjoy a lunch between 11am & 1pm, then off to the Chapel for a nostalgic 1940’s afternoon at the USO. The Legacy Girls will perform the WWII songs of the Andrews Sisters. Sponsored by the Blue Island Library and the Blue Island Senior Office. The Community Service Block Grant provides funding to provide a range of services, which assist low-income people to attain skills, knowledge and motivation necessary to achieve self-sufficiency. The Program also may provide low-income people immediate life necessities such as Food – Medicine – Access to Care – Dental Program – Emergency Relief Services – Family Nutrition – Scholarship Program.
